I am currently a PhD student at the University of North Carolina School of Information and Library Science. My area of research interest is modern oral communication, with an emphasis on the reality storytelling movement.

Before beginning my doctoral degree I was an elementary librarian at The Lovett School in Atlanta, Georgia. I have also worked as a children's library assistant at the Athens-Clarke County Library in Athens, Georgia. While living abroad in Norwich, UK, I created a small collection of American picture books and presented programs on American culture and WWII for the 2nd Air Division Memorial Library

I received an EdS in Learning Design and Technology with a focus on School Library Media from the University of Georgia and an MLIS from the University of Alabama School of Library and Information Studies.

Previously, I received an AB in Latin and English from the University of Georgia. During the summer of 2005, I studied abroad in Rome, Italy with the UGA Department of Classics
